Going to try something out here. Look next door at the "Orders" tab. Ideally, this will be where you can come and check on your order in hopes of keeping this clear and transparent.
I will see how this goes and how much time it requires to keep current (I'd rather be making your quilt and I'm sure you would too!) but I have created a page with order numbers, shipping location and production status. The order number should match the order confirmation generated by the website (not the paypal one). The location is the shipping city and state on the order and the status should be one of the following:
-Complete & Shipped
As I mention in the information page, I will try to adjust the estimated lead time as often as I can, but if it is a concern please contact me prior to placing your order so I can give you the most up to date estimate. I am toying with the idea of adding a column to the orders page that will have your lead time (or perhaps estimated ship date) once you have placed your order. I think this would be useful for transparency and there could be a situation when I have say 0 orders and the lead time is 2 weeks and then get, something totally realistic, like a 100 in one day. OK...maybe like 99. In any case you could imagine how this would change the lead time a bit. All 99 folks think it is 2 weeks, but that's not gonna happen. Again, just an example to explain why I am toying with placing the fourth column.
Feel free to post an opinion or if you think other relevant information would be helpful. Don't want to be updating the website an hour each day when I could be sewing, but all suggestions are welcome!
