Some big changes/news here folks. Mid-Atlantic Mountain Works is no longer taking order for Top Quilts. You may still order down plugs, stuff sacks, apparel, etc, but for the foreseeable future, we will no longer take orders for top quilts.
Instead, quilts of varying size, taper, fabric and models will be made in small batches. Once I have a batch ready, they will all go up on a page on the website at once for sale. By the good grace of USPS and Priority Mail, when folks then purchase a quilt, it should generally be in your hands 2-4 days later.
This sales model is going to grant total control over the production process. It will ensure that the quilts will continue to be made from start to finish, in house, with all of the quality and care that our customer base has come to expect. It will help eliminate the uncertainty and stress that surrounds order volume fluctuation and provide a better "work-life balance" given the recent addition to the family.
So how do you buy a quilt?
Start by joining the newsletter, email-notification, thingy I have set up at the bottom of this page over here.
This is not a list to spam you. Quite simply, the sales will happen intermittently for the foreseeable future. I am hoping to have one every month or two, but who knows. So instead of checking the site, when a bunch of quilts go up for sale, in almost all circumstances, I will send an email to the grouplist first, so essentially they will be the "first come, first served" lot. I will then spread the word via social media (Facebook Page, Instagram, and Twitter) and on the various forum communities we are a part of.
Also, definitely sign up to follow us on social media, particularly Instagram as I will often post pics of what is in production as sort of a preview for what will be up for sale next. If you see something you like, you can be sure to stay tuned.
The models, descriptions and options are of course still up on the site and going no where. You can still configure your ideal MARCY 20 or any other quilt and see how much it will cost if it comes up for sale.
I am looking forward to finishing up the current outstanding orders for all you good folks still waiting patiently and excited to then get going on some quilts for our live first sale!! I hope you all will come along for the ride with us, it should be exciting!
